In 1929 Hungarian author, playwright, poet, and translator Karinthy Frigyes proposed the original notion of the now famous theory: 6 degrees of separation.

The Hypothesis proposed suggested that any human on earth can be linked to any other human through 6 other intermediaries. As each link is made the number of associates grows exponentially and so linking any body to any body.
